Would like to know how these guitars, the Supro Supreme 1400 series made between the 40's and 50's, were constructed.

Is there another material giving structure under the MOTS?

Is the body solid or hollow?

Are these heavy or light weight?

.
I don't have the Supreme model but I have a 1947 Supro in brown mots.
It's a solid body and as for the weight I have no idea.
It feels average weight for a guitar of it's size. It's certainly not heavy.
I do not know what type of wood they used in making them.

Mine is an ugly little thing but I love it's tone.

Thanks Larry. Yes I'm finding the tone on these to be something that interests me to the point of overlooking the MOTS. Smile

We have the same guitar with a National badge. Chicagoan is the model. Same string through pickups. These little guitars have an amazing tone.

Yes, I cannot emphasize enough to it's lack of esthetic appeal.
The MOTS just kind of puts the nail in the coffin.
But this little sucker has a tone I just love.

It's at the pickin' barn, but it's just like the one in this thread. I think Valco was the mfg. Others here have more knowledge, I'm sure.

I like the art deco Empire State look.

The National was the "higher end" over the Supros supposedly. Wonder what differences there were if ever as they look similar?

Yes Valco figured in as well.
