This is a LGD that was built with a Metal neck. I just finished installing a complete new changer, and did a set up and service. Here is a sound bite with Gary Thorsen playing.

Hey Bob; nicely done. What Changer fingers did you put in?? original Sho~bud fingers double/double or triple/double??
Original Bill Lawrence 705 in there too?? nice.
What is the serial number on that?? The only person that would of built it with a metal neck would of been Paul Franklin Sr. as a custom order for someone...and I guess since the color is the original Emerald Green per. Lloyd Green's endorsement deal...I guess he didn't have to put "SP" under the LDG...as "LDG MODEL" was only originally built per endorsement....So I'VE never seen a LDG with metal neck...> and it is the proper changer mounting they did; without the regular tail piece you hang finger in.

| Ricky, this was a special order guitar. It was ordered to be built with a metal neck. Paul Franklin did the setup on this guitar. It came with the new style changer fingers that were three up and two down. I believe the 705 pickup was installed later. The metal on the fingers was worn, so I looked on eBay and found a complete new changer with super pro-style fingers that were very similar. I purchased and mounted the complete changer in the guitar. This required different return springs but was otherwise the same. The neck and changer mount are Pro III style. I think it was built around 1975, there can't be many like this one. These new fingers are NOS Sho-Bud stock and are a great opportunity for anyone who needs Pro III style fingers now. |

Wow Bob thanks so much for that info. I figured Mr. Franklin did it...and that sounds like the very first year of the Pro III metal neck and changer mount...still had wide waffle pedals...so first of "75...so cool.
Yeah that guy(who ever it is) has got some real Sho~bud brand new; original stuff....incredible.
