here's proof that a picture is not worth a 1000 words. I tried to get a spectrogram of my Emmons p/p d10 vs my aluminum Jackson pro V s10 to see what secrets would be revealed. Very few it turns out. The jax has slightly more power in the upper harmonics and sustains those harmonics a tad longer as best I can tell.

What you see are open strings 10-->1 then Fret 12 (or there about) strings 10-->1. Recorded through the flat amp setting on a Yamaha THR-->USB. Spectrogram courtesy of SonicVisualizer on MacOSX. did not use VP. I tried to pick as evenly and consistently as possible but you know how that goes.

Wow...from where I sit, those are unbelievable close! Differences, as few as they are, could also be mostly explained by the D10 vs. S10 construction.
