If anyone is thinking, What's with that green stamped number on the end of the neck?, That is totally legit. RP

Not questioning the authenticity of the guitar, but it looks like the neck is laminated (unless it’s a reflection in the photograph).
I‘ve never seen that on a Fender before, tho’ I have seen maple necks with a laminated maple fingerboard.

I have an all original 69 that has the date on the end of the neck.

I had a 68 Tele w/ a laminated maple board on a maple neck.

Hi Tony,
I have still have a 1965 Telecaster with laminated maple board on maple neck, like the one you had.
This is my first time seeing a Fender neck that is all laminates, tho' I don't regard myself as an expert.
I think Framus may have done them at some point.

I think the ser. # photo is showing some "router scrub" from the neck pocket, making marks into the finish, not laminates of slab wood. Slight wiggle movements over years of use is all. 😎
Most every maple neck from this era produced was maple capped ( unless a special full blank type was specified) I had a 67 ..for a short while, same colors, features.. stolen from a closet by a "visitor" to my brothers house while both of us were away.
