Just got a Don Blood armrest for my Stage One. Only had it installed for a couple hours of playtime, but I like it so far.
Question........how are you those of you using one transporting it for gigs, if it doesn't fit in the steel case? Or do you just leave it at home?
Observation......I immediately noticed it helped me in a couple ways I didn't expect. I tend to sit too far under the steel, which gets my left foot too far up on the pedals, making turning my ankle to select just A or B difficult. This definitely solves that. Plus, my tendency to not trust myself and constantly peek down at the pedals will get cured, quick. Can't see 'em if I tried!

That's what nice about your guitar with a pad or an SD-10, it positions you at the right distance from your guitar.

I used to feel that was, Erv, like to be comfortable, I had to have the C6th neck between my belly and the E9th neck.
Then I became ore comfortable, position-wise, playing the C6th neck. Now I just play a 12 string!
But I would say it felt weird at first, playing a single neck. |

Yeah....my plan is to eventually move up to a D-10, so hopefully this will also help make the positioning transition easier. |

I have put 2 pads on single neck steels.
An MSA and a GFI. The way my right hand is made and been cut, mashed, and hit over the years I need a pad. By resting my right wrist on the pad I have a lot better control of my picking fingers.
With the 12 string key head on this MSA I had room to carve a place for picks and bar. Nice going from steel bar to plastic Do-Bro Bar |
