I hope you figure out the string buzz. When you do, please post here on what it was. String buzzing always presents a good mystery.

Sheesh, looks very nice. Well done.

On the string buzz, is it only when open? With substantial bar pressure does it go away?

Thanks. I just checked and with bar pressure it still buzzes.

It looks great ! String buzz is a problem I've had a few times, but usually on the 1st string, for some reason....

I'm still sorry that I sold my D8 String Master a few years ago.. Sad

I will say this, after using it to clean the chrome on the Stringmaster and using it again last night on the legs, Flitz polish is awesome!

Does the buzz still exist if you move the string about 1mm to either side on the bridge? If so, you might try unscrewing the bridge and rotating it 180 degrees to the unused side if that hasn't been done already.

That’s a great idea! I’ll try that

I meant to say "If not" but it's worth a try either way. It fixed a first string buzz on my old Stringmaster.

OK, a little more detective work. I turned the bridge around, still buzzes.
BUT, I moved another string to the same slot (nut, bridge, and anchor point) and no buzz. That leads me to believe it is a bad string.

BUT, would the tuning peg do anything to cause rattle? I can't imagine it would as one it passes over the nut it's all about the string making good contact with the bridge.

I've also sparingly used Flitz to safely remove marks, smudges and gunk from the paint finish also. It's good stuff.

Does the buzz make its way into the pickup, or is it only an unplugged/acoustic aggravation?

If it’s a rattling sound, maybe it’s not coming from a problem on the console. Do you have it set up on its legs? Check the legs and make sure they are tight both in the sockets and the height adjustment screws.

Yet another pic. I'm lucky enough to work at a University where we have a great audio engineering studio. Took it in first thing this morning and ran it through a Fender 65 Twin 15. Holy cow does it sound awesome!

Looks great, good job!!

I would have had a hard time turning that down, too, and I can barely play!

Lovely, and I've heard good things about the Fender Twin 15" for steel. I saw one in passing in a music store shop window but I'm still slumming with cheaper, lower wattage import amps for the moment Smile

That guitar looks like it's got a new lease on life...well done.
