Hi all,

It's been about a year since I started learning the steel guitar...been making slow, incremental progress. Here's a tune I recorded with my kumu's backing track yesterday. Hana, or Paradise Found, in his arrangement in B11. I love this song...first heard in on the Felix Slatkin "Paradise Found" album which had Jules Ah See and others accompanied by an orchestra. Alan A has some cool techniques in the chart (reverse to forward slant keeping the top note in place and in tune, oh boy!).

Excellent in every way. To play that well after only a year is a stunning achievement.

Thanks! I've been a bit advantaged by a musical background, a wonderful teacher (Ke Kula Mele) and the enthusiasm of the newly converted that has had me saturating myself in this music since last year! Very Happy

The guitar is the middle neck of my 57 Stringmaster, fed into my computer direct using Line6 POD Farm. I wouldn't say its the best tone you could get, but using an amp sim is a lot easier than mic'ing and gets a serviceable sound (also can record with noise in the house!).
