Want to make sure this process is okay for tuning the half-stop on an SD-10. I saw an older thread, but it seemed like the brass screw here just changes the amount of tension in the half stop, not the actual tuning (https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=315059&highlight=derby+half+stop)
To tune the half stop, I did this:
1) Tune open 9 and open 2.
2) Tune the 2 full lower and the 9 lower.
3) Pushed the lever until I felt resistance, used the nylon nut to tune the half stop to pitch.
4) retuned the full 2 lower using the split screw.
Does this seem like an okay way to do it? Most threads seem to say use the split on 9 to tune the 2nd, but this seems to work! |
