I had to chuckle at the sight of those old Oahu books. When I started playing, instructional methods were still making the distinction between â€œSpanishâ€ guitar and â€œHawaiianâ€ guitar. There was nothing this 12 year old Beatles fan was less interested in than corny old Hawaiian music, so I decided the Spanish knew what I wanted. Jeffran College was excellent for itâ€™s time, and gets a respectful nod in Paulâ€™s blog post. But here hasnâ€™t been anything like the Paul Franklin Method in pedal steel instruction before, ever.
