I have tons of Don Helms E13 tablature.
To tramspose E13 tablature to C6 tablature, and vice versa:
C6 - E13
E - G#
C - E
A - C#
G - B
E - G#
C - E
I this correct? _________________ 1940 Kay bass

Thanks,
How about C6 to Open E (EBEG#BE low to high)?
Possible?

Not directly possible, since there is no 6th available in the Open E tuning.
You can adapt tunings when the overall pattern of the strings is the same, just moved around as per the tuning.
So with 6th tunings you have the most common options of the 5th on top, like A6 and C6 w/ high G; the 3rd on top, like C6 or the E6 w/ high G#, and the root on top, Like E6 (with E as top string).
Open tunings are very useful, but they do have this limitation. |
