Gibson ES-335TD, cherry finish, 1968, all original, super clean condition, we have known the original owner of this guitar, where and when it was originally purchased, a true once in a lifetime piece for sure. It appears this guitar was bought and never played! We have been in the music business over 35 years and never seen a nicer example of this era/model. This guitar is now 50 years old and it's condition is just amazing. A true collectors dream guitar for sure. Comes in it's original case, with hang tags, and guitar cord. Asking $8999.99 plus shipping and insurance.

my 68 has the trapeze. i don't know if, at the time, you could request one way or the other. i did not buy my new so i'm not sure.

The thinking years ago was that the guitar got better sustain from a stoptail bridge (think Les Paul) over a floating tailpiece.. Perhaps this could be debated differently today..The original ES335 had a stop tail which was also part of the thinking and many of the floating tailpiece 335's were modified.

| The problem with the trapeze on my 335 was clicking noises when bending strings, so I had a stop tail put on. Problem Solved. |

| Trapeze became stock on the 335's around 1965, it was the standard along with the occasional special order Bigsby until 1981 when Gibson released the first run of Dot neck reissues. I know a lot of players that liked the stop tailpiece for the sustain but I personally never noticed a huge difference! |

Well, my '61 dotneck came with a Bigsby. I replaced it with a stop-tail because the damn Bigsby wouldn't stay in tune.
