Custom made for me in 1997 by the Gallagher Guitar Company of Wartrace, Tennessee.
It "rings like a bell", as Merle Travis told Doc Watson about Doc's first Gallagher guitar.
Brazilian rosewood and sitka spruce, with sharp cutaway. 1 3/4" fingerboard width. Bellflower inlay on headstock, abalone snowflake position markers. OHSC. VG to Excellent condition.
$3000 or best offer. Will consider trade for nice S-10 pedal steel, preferably 4x5, of similar value.

Still available. Where else can you find a Brazilian rosewood guitar these days for such a price?

I just know somebody wants to be playing this thing! I also have a second Gallagher I bought around 1967, one of the early ones made by J.W. Gallagher. It's around number 20. This one, made under his son Don, is so similar you couldn't tell 'em apart in a recording. Very consistent guitars!

I remember the "rings like a bell" comment by Merle to Doc. My high school girlfriend got me the Circle Album for Christmas. I think it is probably the best Christmas present I ever got. I never dreamed then that I would someday get to work with both Jimmy Martin and Vassar.
These are super guitars. Someone should latch on to this.

Al and I made a trade, I received this beautiful guitar today and would like to report that it is exactly as he described it. The transaction went very well and I would recommend doing business with Al any day of the week!
I'm off to my place at the lake to spend some quality time with my new prize! Thanks Al |

Congratulations on your new acquisition Doug. Nothing more satisfying than the tone of a fine instrument. Yours should be a treasure with that construction and the Brazilian rosewood. Enjoy! |

I see Doug got here before I did.
We did a trade. We're both pleased with the outcome. I would be happy to do business with Doug any time.
Anyway, this item is SOLD, and a donation will be in the mail Monday.
