| Wonder how Billy Knowles is making out. Looks to me like he's close to the worst of this thing. I don't think he's far from New Bern - and they have gotten it pretty hard. We have only had a little wind and rain so far. |

We have several forum members in North Carolina. Hope they are all well.
I have a sister-in-law in St Stephen South Carolina (a little NE of Charleston) and she says just some light rain and wind so far.

Lifelong friend of mine, played together in bands over the years, saved his whole life for retirement. He and his wife built their dream home in Oak Island.
They moved in last Monday.
And evacuated on Tuesday. They're safe with their dogs up in Maryland with family but no word yet on their home, or his musical instruments. Sea level ain't the best choice for living, these days.

Here in Matthews NC, Union County ,SE of Charlotte, lost power for about 1 day , had maybe 10 inches of rain, but all is fine. We have a 5000 watt Generator so we were able to keep things going. I'm sure others had it much worse.

I’m in Linville—up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Linville River came up over the banks, and even though my house is on top of a mountain, the only way in or out is by way of a bridge over the river. So, last night we had a mandatory evacuation. They set up facilities in a rec hall, so we’re all in refugee mode for a while but safe. Even though we’re way inland, these mountain streams can flood very suddenly when hurricanes move through.

| Well, thankfully it was not what it was pumped up to be (as usual) around here. Had A bunch of rain and a yard full of brush. But, no damage or power outages. Our AC, curiously, crapped out today - and it's still hot and muggy! - and we lost the internet yesterday - The storm or coincidence? Who knows. |

Glad to hear your good Paul, hope Jack is also. Billie as well... So many are not.
Talked to my best friend in Havelock NC(MCAS Cherry Point), he said the flooding is bad and damage spotty, but he is well and running a gen set to keep fridge and freezer going.
Still waiting to hear from others. |
