My first post, thank you for the forum.

I've been in The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" Washington DC for 21 years now (I am a tuba player).

Recently I joined a relatively new sub-group of our unit, "Country Roads" on steel. I had never seen a steel before but the Army bought me a GFI Expo D10 and Milkman Pedal Steel Amp. I've had it a year now and have performed a few times. I am hooked and love it (plus learning this instrument may stave off the onset of Alzheimer's)!

I ordered a MX400 to use as a high quality reverb (plus many other effects). However I don't know what I am doing. It is a stereo (even surround) unit, and I can only plug in one channel and out, and the sound I get is not useable.

So my questions are: How do I use this thing? Is this supposed to work as a fancy effects "pedal"? Does anyone on the forum use the MX400 in a live setting?

I know people use Lexicon products here and reviews are good-that's why I ordered this. I've only played a brass instrument my whole life and have zero experience with electronic equipment. I would truly appreciate any advice on where to turn.

Again, thanks for the forum.

Jon,

I have one of these units and am quite happy with it. It is a bit of an overkill for doing gigs, but you can get a good sound out of it.

I am going to send you a pm with my phone number. Please give me a call at your convenience and we will talk about it.

regards,

Jon, Mark can certainly help you... he has a long history and understanding of these fine Lexicon Effects Units.

I think I recognize that stage. Is a double serving of Mexican food your double scale pay when you bring on your Sousaphone there? Laughing Laughing
