Ben, I also noticed that, however, I have seen several that do not have it. So, I am wondering if there were some made without it? I will ask her, I know she purchased it new and I see no reason for her to remove it?

They were often taken off as "not attractive" and/or rattling. I didn't have one n mine and NEVER missed it. Great guitars...with a recent rise in popularity due to Dave Growl and others using them on stage. Good luck with the sale.
