Here is a little E9 Standard Tuning for you. I actually have never used this tuning much but it has been fun to work it out a little bit. This is the new Jackson Steel Guitar that is fully aluminum. No wood whatsoever.

OMG that is the tone I have been chasing for years! I am a major fan of aluminum necks, but an aluminum STEEL?! Instant Dickey Overbey! Just got off the Jackson website; after hearing this I may hafta have one of my own!

Thanks Ken M. - those were such great years. I was thinking back about all of that this past Labor Day weekend. Those memories of the International Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis are amongst my very favorite in life.

Thanks Gary!

Rich U.- exactly! I'm so glad you are hearing that tone. It is a unique for sure. David Jackson just built one of these for Robert Randolph. He loves it.

Fantastic job Zane. Guitar sings like a song bird. I loved the tone. Maybe just a little more feeling would make it better? Ha! No way.

Thanks Zane! Love hearing you play.

Here are a couple other not too shabby players on these awesome sounding guitars:

Johnny Cox playing "Crazy Arms"

Robert Randolph discussing aluminum frame advantage:

AND let's do something special for the forum members. We will offer a $200 discount on the Pro V aluminum frame guitar from now through the end of Septemeber. That gets you into a brand new Jackson Steel for $2800! Your choice of color (see Wrap Finish color chart under guitar images). Includes 3 foot pedals and 4 knee levers.

Use code "sgforum" when checking out.

Nice playing (as usual) Zane, but I was distracted by the volume pedal constantly shutting off to zero, which is unusual for you, I've never noticed it on your other videos.

Is this just something that you decided to do for this particular song, or is it a different volume pedal that you were using ?

Would love to see a video comparing the aluminum to wood Pro V models by the same player through the same amp!

Marc,

You can see most any video on my You Tube where I'm playing the green colored Jackson. That is the Blackjack model. Compare this sound with that one. There are two different tones for sure. I like both!

Thanks for the heads up Ron. I'll check that out. I like Johnny's playing a ton. I've only been playing for 40 years now so not sure I'm still a newbie but obviously there is something that folks see wrong with my playing in this video.

Zane,

Sounds great to me, I always enjoy your playing. I wish I had the fret board knowledge you obviously have. Hopefully, maybe someday!
