I started this pattern back in February, and have been working diligently since, dialing in the details. I have been making shoe pickups for several years now, but this particular new shoe has been in the works for about a year. The shoe is the main reason I built the pan model. I wanted to build a proper "home" for the new shoes. Kinda the cart before the horse...
I have had requests to build a similar model for years , which lead to my Cast Aluminum Clinesmith guitar, which has it's own unique voice. I wanted this to sound like an old pan and it does. It features a long scale of 24.625 inches. String spacing of 2.375 at the nut and 2.75 inches at the bridge. I will be starting a 6 string long scale pattern very soon.

Also, I’m looking at the picture, and I can’t figure out the string gauges, and tuning on this.
From light to heavy then down gauges again, if you have a minute, I’m interested in learning, Thanks Todd.

Steve, I have a F#9 tuning on there . The same tuning Speedy West and Herb Remington used .From high to low:
E,C#,G#,E,Bb,F#,Eb(high),F#(high). The top 6 is the same F#9 Dick McIntire used .Here's a video I did using the tuning, although I think I only use the bass end high strings once. There's some warts in there , but it shows the tone of the steel pretty well for an ipad recording.

Todd, the tone from your hands, and the beauty of a frypan you created is amazing.

Daniel, I do trades, and partial trades every once in a while. I am not looking for anything in particular right now. Thanks for the offer.
On another note:
I think there is a way to shim your pickup to get it to sit correctly for your string gauges. You need to pull that pickup out of the cavity and see how it is mounted. I know the pickup base is not sitting against the body. There has to be a shim in there, and you will need to adjust this by adding or subtracting material.

Ive tried that but its either too high or too low
The back end of pickup screws have two shimd to even it with the front
