Let's see if I can explain this correctly.
I find a Youtube video I want to share.
I copy the link.
I then open up one of my long standing AT&T email accounts, create a new email, and post the link in the body.
Problem: The actual link is correct, but the little picture that is created and shows up with the link is something completely different.
In other words, I might copy a link to a PSG video, and the link will be correct, but the picture will say that it's for some wildlife video or finance or maybe even something in another language. In other words, not even remotely related to the link.
So then to try to troubleshoot it, I send the email to myself.
When I get the email, I open it and click on the supposed bogus video.
Guess what? It turns out to open a new window for YouTube and goes to the CORRECT (PSG) video.
So........
Thinking that YAHOO email is the problem, I try copying and sending links from other web sites.
The SGF, various newspapers, Craigslist, etc.
Guess what?
They are all OK.
So it appears that there is an issue with Youtube links only.
I haven't figured out if the problem is with YT, or with Yahoo mail translating the link into a picture and inserting it into the emails.
I have looked at different settings on YT and Yahoo mail but nothing stands out.
This is relatively new, the past few days or so.
Anybody else notice this?
Fixes?
Thanks in advance. |

ajm,
I haven't experienced the problem, but one way around it might be to wait for the picture to be loaded, then click on the 'X' in the upper right corner of the image to remove the picture. That just restores the original URL that you posted, instead of changing the link text and adding the picture.
