I did a search on this and got nothing. There was a post on the forum on how to sand and clean up a Pedal Bar. What Grit Paper to use and how to do it. I want to do both of my Emmons, a 78PP and a 82 SKH. There both beat up pretty bad. Thanks for any help.

Depends on how bad the aluminum is scratched Billy. Sometimes I start with a 120 grit and palm sander. Then work my way up wet (hand) sanding trough 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 2000. Then there are times when I've started with 400/600 and worked up to around 800, again depends on the damage. Then begin buffing. However you do it, always sand in the same direction and evenly or you'll end up with light scratches in the aluminum after you buff it out.

I've been able to get a pretty good shine by buffing after 600 wet-or-dry. Might save you some tedious labor.

Buffing a very dirty job probably best left to a pro like the guy s use here in Nashville Mike Skaggs can tell u the guys name he’s the one that buffed all the Sho buds he definitely takes buffing too annother level when he’s done it looks like a mirror. If you are determined to have a nice black skin patina for a couple years buff a way. 😂
