This guitar goes back to the 1960's
Willy Domland made pedal steel guitars which were distributed by Don Edwards of Denver , Colorado Don is the guy who made the light beam volume pedal at one time. After playing a Fender 1000 for several years I sold it and bought an earlier version of the Domland guitar. It was cable operated rather than rods. Because of the nature of the changer it had a bit wider string spacing. Later the Domland switched to rods rather then cables. Then the changer design was changed and the string spacing resorted to the standard. The new changer was similar to ZB and Sho-Bud. According to Don Edwards there were only eight of this latest model ever built. It is rod operated and came wit ten pedals on the D10. The knee levers had to be screwed on at assembly and removed to disassemble. The guitar was origionally black. After I sold it it was painted blue. It eventually made it back to me and I restored ot to it's origional color. It has an EDWARDS name plate rather than DOMLAND This is not a light weight, it weighes about 66 pounds

Thiel, that is a cool guitar, and fascinating chapter of steel guitar history. Thanks for sharing that. Very nice job restoring it.

I hadn't heard of the Edwards guitar. Don't know how many Edwards Light-Beam volume pedals were made. I got this one new in 1973. Still going strong when I sold it last year. No lightweight itself.

Don Helms gave me his Edwards light beam pedal. I never use it but I'll never lose it.
