One of my favorite Sneaky Pete songs he recorded on w/Little Feet, "Six Feet Of Snow": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMeFHAaZ_gE

Thank you, Joachim! Such a unique sound and style of playing.
If I remember right, that song is from their first record album (no pun intended).

He gets an almost elastic, rubbery sound on that Little Feat tune. Anyone know what effects he used for that sound? I know he played an 8 string Fender, is his tuning and copedent listed somewhere?

Thats what his guitar sounded like... There is a magic tone in the old long scale Fender 400 guitar w/Jazzmaster style pickups, that can't really be easily duplicated with modern steels.. That was pretty representative of what a lot of them sounded like...
If you listen closely on that cut, its actually pretty dry, just a lot of compression..

They sounded to me a lot like a 50's strat with the switch in the "in between" position..

Here's a cut with Sneaky using fairly heavy effects with wondrous results ..

. God bless you Pete, your playing inspired me and made me the player I am..

He really lays it down well under Bill Payne. I think of Sneaky as being very intuitive--good with a band that uses unusual changes.

I agree with Bob C. about Take it Easy/Our Lady of the Well. Absolutely inspirational. When he starts his solo, I can almost hear the words reprised.
He could fit equally well with Sandy Denny and The Ventures and everybody else he ever played with.

Oh boy. Those songs and that sound bring tears to my eyes...
Add 'These Days' with David Lindley on lap steel and I'm a quivering mess.

"Ah but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now."
