The 4th string lower screw has broken of the changer. Has anyone ever brazed them back on or do I have to get a new one?
It is a 72 ZB Custom double 10
Thanks, Bob

I don't quite understand the problem.
The screws are just threaded in, I'm quite sure they aren't fastened permanently.
Just remove the broken screw and replace it. |

They're pretty easy to grind/cut out and braze a new one on. If you have any bicycle frame builders near you they can fix it easy. About any decent welder with brazing experience should be able to help. |

I've done it a couple times, using silver solder and a simple propane torch with a 10-32 screw.
To get the old piece out, just heat it up & pull it out with needle nose pliers. _________________ "To live outside the law you must be honest." (Bob Dylan) |

I had that happen. I was able to use a 10:32 bolt cut to length and was able to partially thread it into the changer pull finger and then sucure it with JB-Weld (Epoxy) No doubt not as good as welding it but it worked and is still functioning after more than a year. |

Thanks Guys. I must have a odd ball one, mine has 6x32 screws and silver solder was used to hold them. _________________ Bob Myers Pedalmaster Classic 8 & 7 Profex2 Peavey M7000 Power Amp 2 15in speakers Nashville 400 Digitech RP 100 67 Fender Duo-sonic 69 Fender Mustang |

same as the one I fixed a while back....I think I probably used silver solder as well...not the electronics stuff though. |
