I know this is old hat, but I stumbled across it and wanted to post it.. it brought a tear to my eye...for several reasons ! The beauty of the song, the masterful control of the instrument, and the memory of BE !!

Greg, glad you will add that one to your list ! I keep coming back to that video, and this silly old man still gets tears in his eyes watching it...goes right to my heart. I admired the way Buddy always smiled and had such a great time playing the steel, regardless of the difficulty of the song.. what touch !I have the tab to this song and will dig it out when my latest steel acquisition arrives probably Friday. I will never play it to his level, but will have fun trying and thats what its all about to me Smile

Thanks for the reminder Larry. One of my favorites. Some of these past performances bring back bittersweet memories.

You wouldn't have to listen to a single other track - he's the greatest on that evidence alone. It's the voicing - the ability to bring out the moving harmonies under the melody. Choirs and orchestras strive for that, and he does it single-handed!
