Hi Paolo, great song, and Andy Iona's steel guitar style is unmistakable. There was no one like him. Those Swingtime song writers often relied on diction to emphasize beat and syncopation. I have listened carefully at half speed many times, with headphones. I think the consonants are sometimes slightly blurred by the three voices being slightly off. Anyway, I am pretty sure these are the lyrics:
My Summertime Girl.
Summertime is bringing, it back to town
All the birds are singing, a beautiful songÂ
And love has brought you, back to my armsÂ
My summertime girlÂ
We'll take in the beaches, and play in the sand
Lythe we'll find the dancing, the music is grand
We'll fall in love, all over again
My summertime girl
Down lazy streams, we'll drift and seem
to make the rendezvous
All of the while, we'll think that I'll
Reveal that I care for you
Now we've eaten clover, our hearts quickly beat
When the summer's over, you go with the dream
And I'll be there, with just memories of
My summertime girl _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |

Paolo, I might be wrong on a couple of lines:
1. Summertime is bringing, its magical charm
Bridge:
Down lazy streams, we'll drift and dream _________________ Don't go in the water after lunch. You'll get a cramp and drown. - Mother. |
