Hi yall . I`ve been refinishing an old Linkon D10
(Basicaly a Sho-Bud supper pro made in Canada by Wayne Link). 3 raise, 2 lower changer. On my back neck I just use 6 strings and tune open G. On pedal 8 I lower strings 2,3 & 5 and I lower the 6th string at the tuner to give me an open D. My problem is as soon as I lower a string ,it won`t return to pitch.During the tear down and putting back together the changer was cleaned and polished and oiled with 3-1. I also have a knee lever lowering my 3rd string to give me a slant in open G. Same thing. As soon as I lower ,it does`nt return to pitch. I tried some old MSA springs I had lying around and although it solved the problem, it made it to hard to push . Any ideas ?It`s not a big deal to just reach underneath and push them back when I use my 8th pedal. But I can`t use the knee lever like that. My E 9th works great. I lower 4-8 and 2-9 and they return to pitch.Any and all ideas appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a Nashville LTD I rebuilt and I ordered a set of adjustable return springs from Mullen and they worked perfectly. It's kind of a balancing act to get em just right but it can be done.

Hi Dave. Thanks for the idea. I`ll look in to this . I just don`t get how my E9th neck works great , but just the slight lower on my back neck won`t return. Thanks again. Dave

Because the 2 necks have nothing to do with each other. Except the knee levers that activate both necks.

Thanks for the reply Richard. That`s right. Nothing to do one with the other. I will probably just keep them separate and not have knees on the back neck. I usually play dobro licks anyway. No need for a lot of bells and whistles . Thanks again. Dave
