After reading the very cool story about Mike Neer taking custody of Sol's Bakelite Rick, it got me to wondering where did Jerry Byrd's guitars end up? |

That's an interesting topic!
I know Alan Akaka has one of Jules Ah See's Magnatone doublenecks.
One thing I particularly wonder about...the Fender 1000 that Jules Ah See used in the late 50s, and the Fender 400 used by Billy Hew Len...I know the latter used A6 but I'd love to know what kind of copedent he had it set up for! _________________ Waikīkī, at night when the shadows are falling

I remember reading that DeWitt Scotty got the Sho Bud and amplifier that Jerry had left to him in his will.
Also remember that one item, I think the Fender amp was damaged by FedEx*???
What has become of them now I don't know, but would assume they were inherited by his children?
* It seems to me there were threads about this on the forum some time ago. _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Interestingly enough I do recall a Jerry Byrd Steel being sold on Ebay in the late 90's. If I recall correctly it went for less than $400 and it was a full console with lots of colors. Whether it was truly a Byrd guitar or not I have no idea. |
