It is with a heavy heart that I let you know, Hazel passed away on May 2nd. She went very peacefully in her sleep. She had a full life, and we were lucky to have had her this long.
She would have been 93 on Sept 3rd this year.

She was a bright presence at the steel shows whenever I would see her there. RIP, dear Hazel.

A great loss. Hazel was one of the best. Jean use to fix her hair at the shows. Don and Hazel will be happily together again. We will miss them.

Sorry to hear of her death. Nancy and I had the opportunity
to visit in their home and have meals together several times.
She was a great lady and good wife.

Got to meet Miss Hazel when I was at Don Helm's table at a steel show. What a grand lady.

A Grand Lady for sure! Not only was she an inspiration for Don but she also took care and did a lot of things for old Hank as well. I remember her showing me several suits and other clothes that belonged to Hank in her closet. Uncle Don asked me, "I wonder what those are worth?" A suit with a name wrote in the pocket flap that said: Hank Williams-Dec. !951. I will always treasure them both as friends!
