I'm new to the forum and would like to ask if anyone knows of a good repair person to do some work on my 1940 Rick B6 lap steel. I need new period correct tuners as well as work done on the volume and tone controls/pots. They hardly work anymore. The tuners are not holding either. I live in Central New Jersey and would love to use someone who I can drive the Rick to but if I need to ship it I will. Would like to find someone who has experience working on these instruments. Thanks so much for any leads.

Not sure if Dennis Kager is still around. I think he retired but maybe his guys still have a shop. Found this from his guy Adam - "Generation Electric LLC" and will be located at 59 Newman Springs rd E, Shrewsbury, NJ. I'm setting up shop with "Be Sharp Guitars"
But, I'd highly recommend a trip to Stroudsburg PA for Jay at Ant Farm Music. He's a whiz and fixes anything electronic. He's the only guy I bring amps to.

Leroy does great vintage instrument repairs and restorations. He was at Mandolin Brothers for years and now has his own shop in Pt. Pleasant. http://www.aielloguitars.com/

Dennis Kager lives near me, next town over. I live in Stockton and he is in Alexandria Township. Always knew him as an amp guy and a very good one.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. If anyone can think of others I wouldn't mind hearing of them. It's good to have a few choices moving forward. I have a few lap steels as well as other instruments and some need a little TLC.
