Bill C. sounds like you and I are playing "musical steels".
For now, though the thread is still open, I'm keeping the Kline. I'm finding it hard to part company with this steel. Also, I had intended to go back to the USA this summer and try it out again with my new surgical hip.
The surgeon advised against moving the right leg too far to the left to protect the joint from popping out. Naturally, on the E9th neck, the Es to Ebs are on the right knee left while on the C6 neck the crucial string C to B drop is also right knee left. I might have to have the copedant changed if the leg does not co-operate. In that case, I may just sell the Kline.
One Forum member expressed interest already so if I do sell it, if feel it is only fair he has first dibs.
In any case, I doubt anything will transpire until next summer but one never knows. You may not want to wait that long but I will keep you informed.

The Kline is now available for $ 4000 plus shipping / insurance. Can ship about July 10th, 2018.

I think people don't really know what a top notch guitar a Kline is. They get beat to death hearing about Emmons, Sho~Bud, MSA, Zum, etc...
The Kline I had in the 70's/80's was my favorite guitar. I have owned 2 ZB's, 2 Sho~Buds, a Williams, a Carter, and now a Mullen. I wish I could buy this one.

In any case, I won't be in a poisition to do any work on it until my hip and right leg have recovered and that will take a while

Thanks for your input. I think if one has played a Kline he understands the beauty of them and how well they work and sound.
Most players prefer keyed steels which leaves Klines on a little island.

Klines are not that difficult to work on if you wanted to change things around. Not like working on a ZB, which is a similar undercarriage design.

Back in the 70s in the San Francisco Bay Area, a Kline was the penultimate steel. Great twangy tone like ZB's, amazing sustain, but substantially improved mechanics under the hood. Incredible tone. If you had a Kline and a Webb amp, you had the best rig around!

I did! Awesome. Had a Webb head and 15" JBL in a cabinet made to JBL specs. Wish I still had them. Out of the 7 guitars I have owned, I think the Kline was my favorite.
