You like Weird Guitars? I found this on Reverb.
Only $1333.05.
I was going to buy it but that 5 cents put me over the top.
It would be fun to try to play but I don't think my arms are that long.
They said it may be one of a kind made by Framus in the 60's for Eddy Rothe.
It's in Amsterdam at the moment.
My little single neck 6 string Rick is looking kind of puny at the moment...

I have an inexplicable fondness for Framus steels and own two lap steels including a combination guitar / steel. I had a S8 console with variable bridge levers and I thought that was about as quirky as it could get. It also weighed far more than it actually should have done, the pickup was weak on output and tone so I sold it. But this 38 string babe takes first prize in the quirky stakes! I kind of like her and I bet she weighs a ton!

I had a triple neck Framus, picked it up in Erie music, Simcoe Ont., kept it a few years , too difficult and heavy to transport.

What do those gangly levers do? Stacked wooden necks for different neck heights must weigh a ton! Unique axe...

John, they alter tuning of each string, giving multiple tunings on each neck. It weighed a ton, only took it out a few times, very difficult to carry. Never did get the hang of all the possible tunings.

I have enough trouble keeping up with two tunings, let alone having 4 necks that are all adjustable !! Don't wanna be jack of all tunings & master of none !  |

I usually MUCH prefer simple fretboards, with simple fret markers (not a fan of playing card pips, atomic diagrams, longhorn steers, roses, etc.) and straight up detest the curvy powerslide fretboards.
But I am strangely attracted to this one. 
Although...upon further review, I'm not sure I could play it, because it seems that the "markers" are not in the usual spots. |

| Interesting rig, that one. I would hazard a guess that unless the body is constructed of balsa, you'd probably need either a lift truck or a crane to move it. Not to mention the arms of an NBA center to reach the outside neck(s). And as Andy noted, those fret-boards are downright weird. Would make an interesting wall hanger if you have cinder block walls. |

Here's one I sure like. Great tone, same string spacing as the standard pedal steel. Not eight string or ten string but triple nine string. The only one of these.
