Congrats, Johnie. Zums are among the finest money can buy. Dig that color, too!

Nice snug fitting cabinet end plates touching cabinet that’s what I like to see. Makes it vibrate right down the leg Paul Senior showed me that u need to be able to feel the vibration in the legs.

Johnie,
I don't know if you've had a chance to notice, but I added some additional "flags" to some of the knee levers. It makes them easier to push.
Glad you like the guitar and I take special efforts to pack a guitar when I ship them.
I am really nervous until I hear that the the guitar has been delivered in good shape, enjoy! Very Happy

Didn't the Beatles say Happiness was a warm Zum or something like that?

Dear Mr. King - I didn't know you played the standard E9 set up; I seem to remember that you only played the Zane Beck copedant. Just wondering. Very attractive guitar of course.

Richard I played Zane Becks tuning for years or really it played me. But the steels I’ve built lately have E9th. Zane Becks tuning is a lot of fun to experiment with. You know Zane Beck only used 4 pedals an five knees. First time I met Z B was in Scranton Arkansas around was 1974 at his small factory he had a station for each thing he did for manufacturing those BMI steels it was neat as a pen set up like a assembly line. Zane played for me that day with a drum machine he must have played atleast 12 songs every one was a Jass tune. He was a good friend an taught my son Zane steel for years.

Johnie,
I have a blue seat that matched the Zum.
I still have a few other pedal steels.
I'm in the process of setting up a Rains guitar.
This was made for me by Bob Rains and it is a beautiful red guitar. I had Bob put separate levers on the right leg for each neck. I learned this from watching Herby Wallace. After Gary Carpenter took over the business he contacted me and was wanting to know how Bob did that!
Take care, Very Happy
Erv

BTW: Jerry Fessenden is sending me a couple of fretboards for the Rains. I really like those longhorn fretboards. Very Happy
