For what it's worth:

Within the last 3 days, I heard a Georgia educator state that many school districts are doing away with textbooks entirely. Students apparently are issued or supply their own "Chromebook"--a cheap laptop that runs Google's browser. Instead of textbooks, these students access online content supplied by Google under a contract with the school district.

So then...if your laptop gets a virus, and you can't do your homework, do you need a note from the "Geek Squad"? Laughing

Some local schools can’t even be kept safe. I feel sorry for parents and teachers today, as well as the kids themselves.

The K12 Virtual Classroom looks like an interesting idea:

It still means that one parent or guardian stays home and kisses normal employment goodbye.

It seems that there's less brick and mortar in all commerce, so maybe it's the trend. Sure is less music being taught within the walls.
Fewer textbooks. They're probably getting all their source materials online. Too bad. I liked school, back in the day....
