Spent much of yesterday at the incredible African American Museum of History and Culture in Washington DC. So well done, spanning over 400 years. The final part of the museum we saw celebrated the many achievements of African Americans in the world of Music and I was especially pleased to see several Sacred Steel Guitarists depicted prominently in the exhibit, right alongside such greats as Marian Anderson, Dizzy Gillespie, Chuck Berry, Charlie Pride, Duke Ellington and so many others. The steelers included Chuck Campbell (of the Campbell Brothers), Calvin Cooke, Robert Randolph, and Felton Williams. This museum is a must-see in DC for so many important reasons.

Had no idea. I wonder who curated it? Must have been a steel fan to include so many Sacred Steel folks. Good to see them get some recognition.
The "unearthing" of the Sacred Steel tradition in the last 20 years, has truly been remarkable. The rest of the steel community and the world in general had no idea that this phenomena, with all their great players, existed.
