I've done that frequently w D12's as they are commonly tough to sell- esp. due to their weight. The guitar will lose about 18-20# and you'll have some spare parts to sell when you're done. |

My first mod- job was an MSA 2x12. It made a great SD12.
I recently turned a problematic but great sounding Crossover into an Sd10 and used two of the pedal linkages for knee levers. Did a similar thing with a Miller, too. I took the neck from the Bud,Miller changer and bell cranks, bought some ShoBud end plates and made this C6 rig that has 2(soon 3) knee levers only. It gives me C-C# and G-G#,G-F#,F-F#. Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I did it to a '76 BMI D-10 awhile back. took all the C6th stuff off and sold it, then had Chuck Back at Desert Rose make me a real nice pad. Other than the extra changer opening in the endplate, it looks just fine. _________________ 2013 Brook Torridge, 2014 Martin 000-18, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, Quilter 101R head, understanding wife of 45 years. I bet it was a challenge to tune the 12th string of the front neck and the 1st string of the other.

Here's a Show-Bud Professional D-10 that Ron Pruter refurbished and converted to a single E9th. I bought it from him. He is on the forum if you want to ask him any questions about the actual modification process that he encountered.
