What pickup(s) do you have on your Rains? Mine came with a George L E-ON. I have since replaced it with a Wallace TrueTone 18.5 Kohm. I'm not sure that I won't go back to the E-ON, at maybe the next string change. They both sound really good. The TT highs are a little "sharper". (I just wish my ears worked like they used to).

I've got George-L 10-1 pickups on both necks of my new D-10 Rains. I also had the 10-1 on the SD-10 I had. Bob Rains has tried about every pickup you can think of on his guitars, to try to find the best sound. I'm inclined to agree with him when he says the 10-1 is hard to beat on his guitars.

I have a new Rains D-10 on order and I'm having the E-66's put on it. Can't wait!

Fred I like both the George L.10-1 and the George L. E-66,I like them both but prefer the E-66, gives me that sweetness I love.

Guys, I think 10-1 or E66's both sound good. I have E66's in my guitar and I am really pleased with my tone. Randall

I have a D-10 "Spirit" model on order with Bob and I requested Jerry Wallace TruTones on it. I am presently playing A Williams with TT's and really like the sound.
