Due to the closing of the Texas Musicians Museum in Irving, the Texas Steel Guitar Association June 10 meeting will be at the Sheraton DFW in Irving, TX (the same location as the 2018 Jamboree). We will be in one of the Galleria rooms in the main lobby of the hotel. We will begin music at 1:30pm as usual. Please join us for some great steel guitar with Joan Cox and Paul King. We look forward to seeing you there.

Just a reminder - Don’t miss it!
P.S. Paul, may I make a request? It has been a while, but at one of the ETSGA meetings, i believe you played a Waylon Jennings song, “Dreaming My Dreams Of YOu†as an instrumental? Really, beautiful song, and you did a beautiful job playing it. I’d love to hear it again.

No. I am, pretty, sure, if it wasn’t “Dreaming My Dreamsâ€, it was some other Waylon Jennings song, a slow, and pretty one. It was something not, normally, done on psg. Allison Krause has a, really, nice version of “Dreaming My Dreamsâ€. If someone hasn’t done the song on steel, listen to her version, and you can hear, that, maybe, someone should?
I’m trying to think of who it might have been, if it wasn’t you, who played it. I, really, thought it was you, but, might have been Gary Thorenson. I can’t remember, so many great songs, so many great players...God less Texas. |
