This morning Lynda passed away . She had been hospitalized for trouble with her back , was in rehab in Indianapolis, In .
She lived in Las Vegas,Nv and had an all female band for several Years. Later , Dick Miller built a pedal steel for her , and when she moved back to Indy , she joined the Indy Steel Club.
She was married to Richard Wright for 25 years , and they played on several shows together. Richard played many instruments , and is a member of the musicians union in Indianapolis. His better known jobs were at Berkley in Boston as a teacher , and band jobs included Buddy Rich , and Elvis.

What a shock. I haven't seen Linda in years and was just recently trying to locate her. When she came to Reno and put the Texas Playgirls together we worked the same circuit for years and became friends. Linda was the first woman steel guitarist I ever saw and I was impressed at her big chord style- similar to Chalker.
Linda had been married to Donny Buzzard and I heard that he taught her to play. I wish I had asked her about that.

This is a sad day.
