Paul was well known as an excellent bass player. Played in the 60's at Wild Bills and JD's with Waylon in Scottsdale. Sang Lorena on Waylons first record they had. Paul also had a love and interest in the steel guitar and for a few years traded steels and played. Often he came down to the Southwest Steel Guitar Association show. I remember him having GFI's, Williams, Rustler and I think he went through a few others. And just one of the nicest kind men I ever knew. |

Always liked his vocals on Lorena and a few other things that so many thought was Waylon. A very talented person. Never knew about his association to steel guitars, but that's very cool. If Im not mistaken it was him and a guy named Gerald Gropp that also did some backing vocals on some of the early Waylon Jennings material. |
