mica supplier

Hello,

I have searched the forum archive, and have not found a post listing a supplier for mica(formica and WilsonArt are listed,though).

Small QTY is what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know of an online supplier of laminate? I've searched the web and cannot find one.

I can get basic laminate locally(Lowes and Menards), but most of what is offered is not that appealing.

Any help would be great!

You may want to check with one of the builders since you just want a small amount.

Most of the commercial places require either buying a certain amount of laminate or a certain dollar amount.

Nick you can also try to do a Google on Nevamar and Lamin-art (they are in Chicago)

A traditional "lumber yard", ( builder's supply yard ) instead of Lowes or Home Depot, should have a supply of different brands of mica, in various thicknesses. They are getting a little scarce, though, since a lot of new, modern kitchens are being built with simulated stone or granite counter tops.

When I orderd my GFI I wanted a a custom formica color and design. I was told I would have to by the whole full sheet as GFI would have any use for it and only needed a small piece. That was OK so I started to research the various brands such as Wilsonart, etc. Gloss is almost not available any longer as a stock item and any samples you look at are either satin or flat finish.

You can get a gloss or custom patern like Zum uses but you have to buy a quantity of sheets. I settled for the stock GFI gloss blue mica.
