Does any steel player use the pedal patch input that is made on the Peavey amps? I have not ever seen one player do this and yet Peavey still includes them on thier steel amps. Is there a difference in tone? Just wondering? Al Svenddal

Hey Al, I've been doing that for about 15 years now except for the 2 years I had a Hilton pedal. The Hilton pedal doesn't recommend you do that. I quit using the Hilton as I hated that dang wall wart which was attached to it. I don't see to much difference in tone with the front patch except when you're playing with your pedal backed off. It seems to retain the tone better through the whole pedal travel. I use a Goodrich L-120 now with a NV 1-12 and a NV 400....JH in Va.

I do. With my Goodrich 120 the tone is slightly better, sort of clearer that way, with less amp noise.

I too used it until I got a Hilton volume pedal.

Always have, still do. Better tone, less noise.

Exactly the same thing and for the same reason as Jerry Hayes posted.
