Could I please get some advice about a Goodrich 7A matchbox, just received it today, never used one before, it has an on-off switch, I know it is to disconnect the battery, if I turn the switch off I get no signal at all, is this normal? I have a Session 400, Emmons SD 10 push pull, a Boss DD3 pedal, a Goodrich 120 volume pedal. How should I use these to gather. Thanks in advance. Jim Goins. Confused

It uses TWO batteries, and yes the switch turns it off. Make sure the two 9V batteries are fresh.

This is how I use it,

Steel > Matchbox > Volume Pedal > AMP , in this manner the signal going to the MB is consistent and not controlled by the V Pedal.

I find it to be a reasonably nice unit, easy to adjust EQ and GAIN as you are playing. But I don't like anything that requires batteries with no option of a Power Supply .

I'm thinking about using the " no battery required " connectors , I think they are 3 or 4 bucks each from the big outlets.

Thanks Tony. I use a Boss DD3 delay pedal, wondered if anyone used a DD3 behind the match box? I wonder why Goodrich didn't give the option of a power supply? I assume it would be, 18 volts, thus two 9 volt batteries. Jim Goins.

I use Steel - 7A Matchbox - DD-3 - Volume Pedal - Amp. Sounds fine to me.

There really isn't any need for a wall wart, the batteries last forever.
