I am expecting to receive my Williams U-12 in a couple of weeks. Are there any owners of these now that can tell me how you like yours. I got the Truetone pickup with it. Please tell me a little about the pedal action, tone and staying in tune.
Thanks ... Rick

Hey Rick,
I've had an S10 Wiliams for about 18 months.
It's a very stable platform- many times it's in tune when I pull it out of the case after a 10 hour drive to a show.

It's got a great sound- I have a true-tone in mine too.

The knee levers are awesome- pedal action pretty light.
Overall, it's a great guitar to play- and very attractive to look at.

I've also got an Emmons PP which basically never leaves home- it's just not as reliable an axe.

Thank you David... I have owned 3 Kline Universals thru the years because I loved the feel. I am hoping the Williams has accurate stops and a nice feel with the pedals.

I bought my first Williams in '92 then had Bill make me a new 400 series in '99. They are really nice guitars, great looking, sounding, and nice pedal action. They are also lightweight. Just happened to have a picture.

Hey Rick,
I have two Williams guitars. I love them both, and I couldn't imagine that you will be anything less than ecstatic when you get yours. I won't get into a long ramble on here about all the things I love about these guitars. It'd be easier to say what I don't like. I have a D-10 keyless, and an S-10 that is not keyless. The only thing in the world that I don't like is that the S-10 is not keyless. If it was, it would be perfect.
If I were to buy another steel, it would be a Williams keyless. Good luck, and enjoy your new Willy.

Thanks for the reply Bobby,

I think you are right. I would not own another steel unless it was keyless and a quality built steel. That's why I picked Williams. I tried a Kline in the early 80's at Webb's Music (Webb Amps) and fell in love with the feel of the guitar and loved that my E's always stayed in tune. I had two Fenders and a ZB before that and hated that problem with the Keyed guitars. Nobody else probably heard the difference ... but I did.
