I'm working on a version of Black Magic Woman to use with the band. Our piano player / main vocalist sings it, I just need some background & a little bit of solo.

Here's the latest attempt

Here's an album with 3 efforts

Do you have a program that can play accompanying backing tracks? Even a drum groove that somewhat matches the one on the Santana recording would help the listener know where you are in the song and get the timing of your lines.

I am curious about the charts on your music stand. Also, is that one of Tom Bradshaw’s tab racks mounted on your steel?

An admirable first crop of videos, all in all.

I have Band In A Box, but I have to get a little solider foundation in the song before I can keep up with the relentless proceeding rhythm. Not there yet.

Those charts are finger exercises out of Joe Wright's book. I work on them every day. Winnie Winston's book is there too but it's covered up.

Yes, that is one of Tom Bradshaw's "tab rack" music stands. It was an excellent value at his asking price and makes my study much easier.

And thanks.

Jeffrey...

If you need to slow BIAB down, just lower the beats per minute setting.

Technically I "know" that but I keep forgetting. Thanks.
