Maybe I was hallucinating, but I'm sure that a while ago someone posted that Windows 10 no longer ships with Paint and it's a shame.

Ready for it not to be there, I just purchased a new PC with Win10 already loaded and it does have Paint, much to my relief as I find it useful crude though it is. Was it some special edition that doesn't have it or am I losing it?

PC vendors can and do install some "older" programs.
However check to see if its "Paint 3D" which is the current Paint program.

I'm not sure which Win 10 update installed this but was recent. I have the latest V1709.

There are free alternatives, and much more powerful than paint, too - try out Inkscape or Gimp.

I have Paint 3D also but I haven't explored it yet.

I also have the current version of Windows 10, 1709, and it has two versions of Microsoft Paint: Paint and Paint 3D. I don't use either as I am a long time licensed user of PaintShop Pro. Still, Paint is a very old and utterly basic art program by today's standards. But, for simple drawing, you can't beat the price (free).

About my W10. When I built this PC in 2011 I installed Windows 7 32 bit. I accepted the free upgrade to Windows 10 when it became available. So, I probably carried over the old version of Paint from W7.

However, sometime during 2017 my PC became corrupted to the point I had to perform a Windows 10 Reset. This wiped out all non-default programs and third party software. I never went out of my way to install Paint, or Paint 3D, but they are there. So, all I can say is that both were installed by a Windows update and a system reset.

As of 3 or 4 years ago, Adobe was giving away an older version of Photoshop.

The CS2 version, from maybe 2010 or so, guessing?

Perfectly adequate for most users.

Legit. Free.

They included a valid registration code.

Worth your while if you can root around on the Adobe site and find it. I have no idea if it's still there.

Hey guys, just a tip but there is a free program called paint.net that is awesome. I use it at work to make graphics and manipulate pictures for our website.

I always use Paint...but just for one thing, to import my scans.
It loads almost instantly and collects the scan quickly. Also sometimes for a quick image resize but that’s it.

All I use it for is cropping and resizing scans but it's very quick and simple.
