Mark, thank you so much, I didn't know this was going on until I read your Facebook message. It is an honor that caught me completely by surprise. I got a call from Mr. Haymes the next day and he explained it to me. I have never been honored in any such a way for my music and am somewhat shocked by it. It would be great to be recognized by my State this way so I would appreciate every consideration of my Forum friends vote. May as well try to keep it "in the family". It would be amazing to me. Thanks to you guys who have already voted.
Jerry

Please realize this is not a contest to pick the best player. (I would surely lose that one ). It is to recognize the person that has the most people in his corner that think enough of him to consider giving him their vote. Maybe I have helped you in some way or you might even be a fan of my music or maybe you just like old guys. I am not good at politicking but it sure would be nice if you would take a moment and vote for me.
http://arkansascountrymusic.com/vote is the website to place your vote. I know many truly great steel players here in Arkansas that are deserving of this award but since they are not on this years list of nominees we can't vote for them. Please take a minute and give me your consideration. Voting closes April 7th.
Thanks,
Jerry

I don't know you Jerry, but you are a member of the Steel Guitar Forum, and have enough guys singing praises for you on here. So I voted for you.
I was starting to think I'd never get to your name. Laughing Man, they put just about everything before the dobro and steel guitar.

It is going to be an uphill chore as my exposure has been minimal. I have played 27 years at "The Little O' Opry" in West Fork, AR, about 12 years at "The Good Old Boys" show in Barling, AR and 10 years with "One Way Flight", which is a Country Gospel group. All three of these started as a "sit-in" or substitute player. I was much more visible in my young years. However, I think I have enough friends on the Forum to make it interesting if you guys would take a minute and give me your vote.
Thanks,
Jerry
