Here's my version of Jerry Byrd's arrangement of "Sand" in B11th tuning:

Super job, Chris!

What steel are you playing this on (and what amp are you playing through)? Post a couple pics if you don't mind.

Sounds great--harmonics are nice and clear.

Care to give a quick explanation of the B11 tuning? One last thing--did you work off a tab at all, or is it all your arrangement by ear (just curious).

Thanks, man. That's impressive.

Thanks folks! I believe the tuning is: B C# D# F# A C# E (Jerry's 7 string tuning).
It was played on an Excel doubleneck JB standup model that I got it from Jerry the last time he played at Scotty's. I don't have any pictures of it and I no longer own the guitar.
The amp was a Peavey Vegas 400.
The B11th tuning is what is called a "strum tuning", which I've always taken to mean that it's usually played without much slanting, though I play some forward slants.
I recorded this in Santa Fe in the late eighties and most of it is from Jerry's tab from his instruction book with some minor embellishments on my part.
It was played live with no overdubs. The bass player is Steve Emmanuel and the guitar, James Sadoti.
If you are interested in tunings there is no finer source than what John Ely put together:

Yeah, I know how you feel, another possible Nor'easter possibly here Tuesday and Thursday. Hang Tight!

Looks like the snow will stay to the south for that one. We've had two nor'easters in the last week or so. Three days until Spring!
