It would be at the top of my list, if I had any money.

I'd buy one without hesitation provided, of course, that all the questions about poor service and delivery could be laid to rest to everyone's satisfaction.

I bought two new steels directly from the factory - one in 1998 and my current D-10 in 2000 - and received impeccable service and two outstanding guitars from the Aycoths. It's sad that the intervening years have seen the company's reputation eroded.

It's a moot point, though. My 2000 LeGrande 111, despite being eighteen years old and after thousands of hard-working gigs will, I'm sure, see me through the rest of my playing years.

The bad reputation has taken it's tole on Emmons. Like you Roger I would buy one even though I don't need it.
About reputation. I was in the shop in Burlington in the summer of 2006. I had a aunt living in Burlington at the time and was helping her out. There was a yellow looking wood grain guitar almost finished at the time. I made the comment that if I had the money I would buy one. He had already told me the yellow guitar was sold but he tried to sell it to me anyway. Just my guess but I figured that no matter if sold or not if you walked in the shop with money you could walk out with a guitar. That might be the reason for slow delivery on there orders.
I have only had one Emmons in my time. Best sounding guitar I ever owned.

The two I have will probably outlast me. Doubt that I'd even consider a new one, given their reputation. It's a shame how it ended up... really sad.

I've owned several Emmons D10 push/pull steels and one MSA Classic. I would buy a new Emmons if they became available in either form. Preferably an S10 because of the weight.

A whole bunch of folks won't open a thread that has no subject, possibly. Edit the title and see what happens?

I have a friend that lives in Burlington and worked for the NC tax dept. I'm sure they have a name for it lol. He thinks all the equipment and building may belong to the state tax ??? whatever. He said if so all could be bought for a small amount of the tax burden . Having said that , buying the equipment and building is one thing. Having the smarts and people to make it work might be something else.
Anyway I run this buy the Forum to see if there were any interest .

Have a look here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/1771+E+Webb+Ave,+Burlington,+NC+27217. It's a heating and air shop now, so it's doubtful the equipment is anywhere to found. If they filed for bankruptcy the assets would have been sold or distributed to settle outstanding debt claims. I think it's all just history now, though I imagine someone could purchase the trademark naming rights for enough $.

Guess that settles that. Thanks Ian.

A brand new Emmons would be tremendous, but it ain’t gonna happen. Like Roger, my ‘95 LeGrande II will carry me on thru this lifetime. When purchased, I thought $2500 was outrageous for a 10yr old guitar, especially having to replace all of the tuning keys for another $320. Fortunately I bit the bullet, and ended up buying the best pedal steel I’ve ever owned.
