My 7A tried to comitt suicide. Jumped off a stand and hit the concrete floor on it’s head..on/off toggle switch. The switch was totally demolished. I figured it would be a simple fix...replace the mini-toggle. Frankly, I am confused. The switch has 3 connection points and 3 wires: 1 red, 1 red w/white stripe, and 1 white. My question, why does an on/off switch have 3 terminals? It is a single throw (I’m assuming), but with 3 terminals??
If anyone knows the answer I’d appreciate some advice. No help from the builder so far.
Thanks

I put an on/off switch on my 6A and I only used two terminals.

I wish mine was a 2 wire switch. It’s probably simple but I’m just not seeing it.🙄

I opened mine up--3 wires. Red on the inside towards the jack, White on the outside and Red/White in the middle. It appears to be a single pole double throw switch, connecting the red/white wire to either the white wire (turns the unit on) or the red wire (turns the unit off. It's doing it through the circuit board, so I don't know exactly what's going on, but that's what I can see.

Also--it doesn't seem to be actually switching the batteries directly. I measure about 5.5 V switching on either wire with new batteries..

Hope it helps.

It does seem kind of crazy! Now to find a switch like that. Shouldn’t be too difficult...hopefully! Thanks. much David!

Digi Key or Mouser should have them.

Bill, that’s what I expected to see in my 7A, but the 3 wired configuration threw me a curve. I have a new switch on the way. Thanks for your input.
