I may have it somewhere but it'll take a while to find it. If I remember correctly it was recorded in C. I used to start it in the 11th fret, strings 3,4 & 5 with A pedal & F lever engaged. Slide back to 10, release F lever, hold A pedal and add B pedal. Do the same from the 9th fret to the 8th then let off both pedals. I'm not sure if that was the answer you were looking for but I hope it helps. If I find the 45 I'll make a copy and send it to you.

Patty Booker does a version of that song that I really like--good steel. You can listen to a little of here here.

Steve, You'll have to get a order of broasted chicken before you play that song. I played Take 5 in there one night and filled the dance floor. Skinned my knee up when I tripped over a salt block.
Don't get me going on the roundup.

Are you sure, that Mel Street recorded this song. Acording to this site:

http://www.lpdiscography.com/

he never had this song on a single or album.

But Josh Logan recorded it - and he sounds a lot like Street. And there's versions by James Segrest and Ted Roddy as well.

I think Roger might be referring to the livestock that hung out there. I know cause I worked there too.
A few cattle, a few hogs, and oh yeah a few fish, mostly large mouths.

Hey, thanks for the replies. I just remember that steel lick and did some Googling (that's a WORD???) on it and found what I found. It had to be out in the mid to later 70's, well, cuz that's when I learned it, duh......anyway.....thanks to all.
Steve

BTW, The Roundup was a great place to meet (future) psycho girl friends, too. Craig and Rog, I have some stories!!!!

Turns out it was James Pastell in 1977. That's the lick I learned back in the Iowa days. It's on YouTube, cool opening steel lick. Don't know who it is.
