The gig will pay decently ($7k for 27 days in April) and any outlay is allowable against my 2018 taxes. I still don't want to throw money away, though.

I may head for the Ft Myers Guitar Center (one of my least-favourite places on earth) and assess the realities of a $300 Chinese guitar. If there's a pawn shop in Naples I'm not aware of it.

Get yourself something decent. Never know when you'll get called again for a 12 string package gig even from this gig referral.
